About Gloss

Since 2017 Gloss has been the premiere professional hair and makeup company in Southwest Missouri. We pride ourselves in being a boutique beauty team specializing in luxury bridal hair and makeup, with each of our artists having 15+ years of experience. Having a small and intimate team has allowed us to perfect the level of service we provide to each and every bride.

Our Mission

Our mission is to enhance the natural beauty in every client to help them look and feel like the very best version of themselves. Our brides say they feel relaxed, confident, and totally beautiful on their wedding days. Performing on location beauty services makes this a reality. We bring everything to the bridal party and turn those beginning moments of the day into an unforgettable memory. Our team and I would love to share this experience with you!

Meet The Stylists

Meet Jillian

Hello! My name is Jillian Toppen, bridal beauty specialist and Co-Owner of Gloss Makeup and Hair.

Born in Ohio and raised in Minnesota, I come from a blended family of 7! I attended high school, college and cosmetology school in Minnesota. I got married in 2011 and moved to North Carolina where I continued working in full service salons cutting and coloring hair. In 2013, when we started a family, I switched to full time freelance hair and makeup. I quickly found my passion for all things special events— and Gloss was born!

My family moved to SW Missouri in the summer of 2017 and I relaunched Gloss that August. I quickly discovered how in demand my services were as an experienced on location hair stylist and makeup artist, and that as a solo artist there were more interested brides than I had hands for! With God’s blessing I was able to build an amazing team of artists to join me.

For 6 years we worked together as a large team serving thousands of amazing clients in the SWMO area— we loved every second!

In 2020 my family was called to homeschool our two girls and after years of prayer we decided to downsize and simplify our growing business!

We are now relaunching in 2024 as a partnership between my two right hand ladies— Ashley and Katrina— and myself! We are so excited for this next chapter where we can share in the success of this amazing business and work together to make the Gloss experience even more amazing for every client!

With over 15 years of professional hair and makeup experience you’re in great hands! If your style is elegant, classic and detailed— I’m your girl! I love a full glam look and voluminous hair but am just as comfortable with a sleek bun or a boho braid. My personal favorite and most used beauty brands are Natasha Denona, Chanel, MAC, Oribe, Redken, and Big Sexy Hair. I am a luxury beauty girl through and through!

Meet Ashley

I’m Ashley!

Makeup Artist, Aesthetician, and Bridal Beauty Specialist. I’m thankful for the opportunity to join Jillian and Katrina in co-owning and operating Gloss!

I am a native Midwest gal who loves the Ozarks and thinks it is one of the most beautiful hidden gems in the country.

I spend most of my days homeschooling my two girls and chauffeuring them to around to activities and events. I have been blessed with a husband who has loved me for over two decades and I couldn’t live without him. When I’m not with these people, you can find me cooking and spending time with my friends and our church community.

Skincare and makeup artistry have been part of my life for over 17 years. I graduated from the Naperville Skin Institute in Chicago Illinois in 2010 with my license in Aesthetics.

I have worked in the spa with skin of different ages and conditions and performed treatments of all kinds, applied lash extensions, and one of my newest treatments, Plasma skin tightening.

As much as I love helping someone achieve a skin goal they desire, I find that one of my happiest places is helping a Bride create the perfect look for one of the biggest days in her life. I can’t explain the feeling I get when I know she walks down the aisle feeling like the most beautiful person in the room.

I’m proud to say that my years of experience, attention to detail and passion for what I do align perfectly with the quality of work and service we all offer here at Gloss!

Meet KaTrina

I’m KaTrina, although most people call me KaT.

I’ve been doing makeup and hair for over 20 years. From L.A. to NYC, I’ve worked in film & television, beauty, editorial and bridal. My work has provided me opportunities with Cosmopolitan Magazine, The Today Show, Good Morning America, The Early Show, Entertainment Tonight, Reuters, The History Channel and Condé Nast Traveler. I have also had the privilege of working with some recognizable names such as Alec Baldwin, Hilary Clinton, Lara Spencer, Michael Strahan and Vanessa Williams. Since relocating to the Midwest with my family in 2017, the focus of my work has been in bridal makeup as well as hair styling and updo’s.

While I have always appreciated the variety of jobs my work has afforded me, truly wedding days are among my favorites. I feel so privileged to be apart of a brides special day and the energy is unlike anything else.
